GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) Men are getting a new start on life, thanks to the great work being done at Guiding Light Mission.
Guiding Light gives men every opportunity to overcome the things that got them there, whether it be drugs, alcohol, or crime. The mission opened Iron House to give men a chance to have stable housing and learn how to live independently while sober. Requirements for living at Iron House are a full-time job and about $1,000 in savings. Having a roommate and an apartment gives the men a stable foundation and a sense of community.
The success rate at Guiding Light is very high. The mission helps men with recovery, discovery their faith, get a foothold, and find jobs.
The first step to getting help is to ask for it. For more information on Guiding Light Mission and what they offer, visit their website.
