GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — There are several Spring Break options for families in West Michigan whether they plan to stay in town or want to do a last-minute, budget-friendly trip.
GRKids.com put together an entire list of Spring Break ideas for families staying home during the break. There are also several camps and classes happening over Spring Break including Own-A-Horse Camp in Caledonia where kids can ride and take care of a horse for a week.
For parents looking for fun activities that are affordable, GRKids.com has a discount code for Saturday’s Griffins game. There are also free kids’ movies available through Flick’s Family Film Festival (showing Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day – March 27 – April 2; Big Hero 6 – April 3 – April 9). Families can check out the Taste Touch and Tour at Koetsier’s Greenhouse or go to one of the many local Easter Egg Hunts happening this weekend.
The GRKids.com app is helpful for parents on-the-go. It can locate the user on a map and then displays nearby events for that day.
For families who want to leave town but don’t want to be stuck on the road for days, there are several nearby cities that offer sightseeing opportunities including Chicago, Indianapolis, Cincinnati, Wisconsin Dells and St. Louis.
