MSP seeks Jeep linked to Dec. hit-and-run

SAUGATUCK TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Police are still looking for the driver who hit a bicyclist near Saugatuck in December and then took off.

The crash happened on the afternoon of Dec. 6, 2014 near the intersection of Old Allegan Road and Blue Star Highway in Saugatuck Township. The bicyclist’s arm was broken was two places and his leg was also broken.

Monday, Michigan State Police released a surveillance image of a Jeep that has been identified as a “vehicle of interest” in the crash. They say the Jeep was in the area of the crash shortly after it happened.

The vehicle is a two-door Jeep Wrangler with a unique Jeep-style front bumper. The driver was described as a thin man who was about 6 feet tall. He was around the age of 40 and had spiky red hair.

The Jeep had damage to the front and possible the front driver’s side.
