GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — The woman who was found guilty of shooting at a McDonald’s window after the suspect received a bacon cheeseburger order without the bacon on the sandwich has been sentenced.
Shaneka Torres was sentenced to three to seven years in prison. She was convicted of carrying a concealed weapon, discharge of a firearm in or at an occupied building and felony firearms.
The judge has also ordered Torres not to have contact with any McDonald’s.
Torres is appealing the case and the judge has remanded her to the Kent County jail during the appeals process, not transferring her to prison.
In Feb. 2014, the 29-year-old went to the drive-thru at the McDonald’s on 28th Street near Madison Avenue in Grand Rapids with a friend. She said an employee got her order wrong, so she went back to the drive-thru later that night.
According to police, Torres said workers got it wrong again, leaving the bacon off her burger. That’s when she pulled out a gun and fired a shot through the drive-thru window.
No one was hurt.
