2 cats, dog killed in Grand Rapids house fire

A fire broke out at a home on Hollister Avenue in Grand Rapids killing three pets inside. (April 29, 2015)

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Two cats and a dog were killed when flames broke out at a Grand Rapids home Tuesday night.

The fire started around 9 p.m. at a home in the 300 block of Hollister Avenue SE, near the intersection with Wealthy Street.

A passerby called police after seeing smoking coming from the home.

No one was at the home when the fire started.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
