Allegan Co. deputy injured in crash on US-131


WATSON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Police are investigating a three-vehicle crash, one of which was an Allegan County Sheriff’s Department marked unit.

It happened around 7:15 a.m. on southbound US-131 between 124th Avenue and 120th Avenue.

The deputy was in the process of investigating a semi-truck that had run off the roadway and into the median barrier.

The cruiser had its emergency lights on when the driver of a pickup truck traveling southbound lost control, ran off the roadway and eventually partially overturned. The pickup hit the deputy’s cruiser as well as another vehicle.

The deputy was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The incident remains under investigation at this time.
