Griffins win, force Game 4 vs. Marlies

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — The Grand Rapids Griffins needed a win Wednesday to keep their Calder Cup Playoffs run alive — and they got it.

Going into Wednesday night’s game at Van Andel Arena, the Griffins trailed their first-round series against the Toronto Marlies two games to none, so they had to win to keep the best-of-five series going.

Grand Rapids bested Toronto 5-2.

The Griffins will now need to win both Games 4 and 5 to take the series and advance in the playoffs.

Game 4 face-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. Saturday at Van Andel Arena.
