Man arrested after stabbing neighbor during fight

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — A man was arrested for allegedly stabbing his neighbor during a fight.

The fight started just before midnight Friday in the 2300 block of S. Burdick in Kalamazoo.

The 42-year-old victim told officers he was stabbed in the shoulder with a knife during the altercation.

When officers attempted to make contact with the suspect, he refused to leave his home or talk to them. Officers were eventually able to convince the suspect to come out and he surrendered without incident.

The victim’s injuries are non-life threatening and he was treated on scene.

The 63-year-old suspect is being held at the Kalamazoo County Jail on a felony assault charge.
