GREENWOOD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) — Authorities say the bodies of two adults and two children were found in a trailer in a rural area of Michigan’s northeastern Lower Peninsula.

Michigan State Police First Lt. Mike Hahn said the bodies discovered Saturday morning were that of a 24-year-old woman, 39-year-old man, and boys who were 2 and 4 years old. The trailer is in Oscoda County’s Greenwood Township, about 180 miles north-northwest of Detroit.

Hahn says it appears that the man killed the woman and boys, then killed himself. He declined to say how they died or their relationships to each other.

Their identities won’t be released until family members are notified.

Hahn, commander of the state police’s Alpena post, says nobody else was involved and the public is safe.
