Fire damages family-owned Shelbyville business

SHELBYVILLE, Mich. (WOOD) — Investigators are looking into what caused a business fire in Shelbyville.

The fire started around 1:45 a.m. Tuesday at Kraai Well Drilling, located at 110 124th Avenue. According to its website, the company is a family-owned and operated well drilling company that specializes in well drilling, pump repair and water treatment.

Firefighters told 24 Hour News 8 a vehicle caught fire in the garage and then spread to machinery inside the garage. The office area also suffered some minor damage.

No one was hurt in the fire.

It’s unclear what sparked the vehicle fire.
