Interview: More breast cancer screening options

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — If you found out that mammograms were less likely to spot breast cancer in you, your next question would probably be what you could do about it.

Dense breast tissue can make it harder for mammograms to find cancer. After a new state law takes effect next month, health care providers will be required to notify women whose mammograms show they have dense breast tissue.

Above, Dr. Jessica Keto, a breast surgeon at Mercy Health in Grand Rapids, walks you through more cancer screening options you can consider if you are told you have dense breast tissue.
