KDPS: Man shot in hip not cooperating

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — Kalamazoo police say a man was shot in the hip on Wednesday after an altercation.

Around noon, Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety officers were called to the report of a shooting in the 2500 block of Hazel Avenue west of Oakland Drive.

When officers got there, according to KDPS, they learned a 21-year-old man had been shot in the hip during an altercation with another man in the driveway of a home.

An acquaintance took the man who was shot to the hospital and he was released a short time later with non-life-threatening injuries.

KDPS says it has identified a suspect, but that the victim is not cooperating with the investigation.
