New judge appointed to 17th Circuit Court

LANSING, Mich. (WOOD) — A new judge has been appointed to the 17th Circuit Court in Kent County.

Gov. Rick Snyder announced Wednesday the appointment of George “Jay” Quist to replace Judge James Redford after he resigned to serve as legal counsel to Snyder.

Quist was appointed to the Kent County Family Court in 2012.

He must seek election in Nov. 2016 for a full six-year term.
