List: events to benefit Susan G. Komen Michigan

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) There are several events in West Michigan aimed to help support breast cancer awareness and research through Susan G. Komen Michigan.

Southwest Michigan Race for the Cure
Sunday, May 17
Arcadia Creek Festival Place, Kalamazoo

On The Border: Pinko de Mayo
Thursday, May 21, 10 a.m. – 11 p.m.
On the Border will donate 10% of the proceeds from your sale to Komen. You must make sure to mention “Komen” when ordering! Offer good at 28th Street location in Kentwood and Potomac Circle location in Grandville.

Whitecaps Give Back, Fifth Third Ballpark
Saturday, May 23
The West Michigan Whitecaps will donate $1 from every ticket sold for the May 23 game to Komen. The first 1,000 attendees will receive pink baseball caps and a fireworks show, and local fighters and survivors will throw the first pitch!

Bob Evans Gives Back
Starting Thursday, June 4
Every Thursday and Friday in the month of June, stop by the Kalamazoo Avenue Grand Rapids location and they will donate 15% of all sales those days to Komen.

Standup for the Cure Michigan, Harbour Town Beach, Muskegon
Saturday, July 11, 9 a.m.
At the sound of the Conch, everyone will go out on paddle boards for a ceremonial parade around the water, led by the SUFTC Ambassador, Zane Schweitzer. This is a celebration of breast cancer survivors, not a race, so even beginners are invited to go out on a board and to be a part of the “Sea of Pink.” Two people on one board are welcome, as well as kids and dogs!

Berlin Raceway Ladies’ Night, Marne
Saturday, July 11, 3 p.m.
The event will be presented by K&M Dodge/RAM and will feature a special Mike Becker Memorial with the Vintage Racing Organization of America (VROA). All ladies of all ages get in for free. Spectator gates open at 3 p.m. First green flag at 6:30 p.m.
