Pedestrian ,14, injured in hit-and-run

GEORGETOWN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Law enforcement in Ottawa County are searching for driver who hit a 14-year-old pedestrian and then off.

It happened around 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday at Bluebird Drive and Baldwin Street in Georgetown Township.

According to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department, the 14-year-old was trying to cross Bluebird Drive when they were hit by a vehicle. The vehicle then fled west on Baldwin Street.

The suspect’s vehicle is described by deputies as a newer silver Volkswagen Passat or Jetta. The driver is described as a man in his 20s with a shaved head and multiple piercings.

The 14-year-old was taken to the hospital where they are listed in stable condition.
