THORNAPPLE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Police are investigating a fatal three-vehicle crash that happened Saturday afternoon near Middleville.
It happened around 1 p.m. at the intersection of Cherry Valley Road and Green Lake Road. It initially appeared the wreck was caused after one of the three vehicles failed to stop at an intersection.
The Barry County Sheriff’s Office says that a northbound pickup hit a Chevrolet Impala, then a Mercury Mountaineer.
A 5-year-old in the Impala was killed in the crash.
Two more from the Impala, one of whom is an infant, were airlifted to the hospital. The driver of the Impala was taken to the hospital in an ambulance.
Neither of the two people in the Mountaineer was hurt, nor were any of the three people in the pickup truck.
The crash remains under investigation.
