Road construction begins around Founders

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Road construction has started this week around Founders Brewing Company.

Bartlett Street, Finney Avenue and Williams Street will see closures through October. The project will be completed in five phases, beginning with Williams and Bartlett west of Finney.

The $3.2 million project includes reconstructing the roads and curbs; installing porous pavement parking and street lights; upgrading sidewalks and ramps complaint with the Americans with Disabilities Act; replacing water mains and sewers; and installing planters, 78 street trees and other landscaping elements.

Customers will still have access to Founders’ parking lot throughout the project. However, people are encouraged to bike, walk or take the bus.
