WALKER, Mich. (WOOD) — Police say they are treating the case of a woman found dead in a wooded area in Walker as a homicide.
In a Tuesday release, the Walker Police Department said the woman has been tentatively identified as 39-year-old Kristin Sidlauskas of Grand Rapids. Police were waiting on confirmation from dental records.
Her body was discovered off Hillside Drive NW near I-96 on Saturday evening. Authorities initially said the death was being treated as suspicious because the densely wooded area where the body was found was not easily accessible by the public.
Tuesday, police said the death was being treated as a homicide. They did not provide further details about why.
Authorities have not yet released Sidlauskas’ cause of death.
