SB US-31 in Holland Twp. back open after crash

HOLLAND TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A two vehicle rollover crash shut down southbound US-31 at Riley Street in Holland Township Wednesday morning.

Deputies say a vehicle was stopped on southbound US-31 at a red light at the median turnaround at Riley Street when it was hit from behind by another vehicle driven by Brandon Morey, 25, of Muskegon.

According to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department, Morey had fallen asleep at the wheel. The vehicle he hit went off the road and rolled over.

Morey was not injured in the crash. The driver who was hit, Rita Huron of Holland, suffered minor injuries.

Southbound US-31 at Riley Street was closed for about 45 minutes.
