Gun fired during road rage incident in BC

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (WOOD) — Police say a gun was fired during a road rage incident in Battle Creek on Saturday.

Three Kalamazoo residents were in a vehicle traveling eastbound on I-94 around 5 p.m. when the driver of a white Chrysler brake checked them for tailgating, according to police.

There was an exchange of rude hand gestures and at one point the two vehicles were right next to each other when a 24-year-old Albion man riding in the Chrysler brandished a handgun and fired one round.

No one was injured in the incident and no cars were hit by the gunfire.

The Battle Creek Police Department later located the Chrysler as it pulled into Lakeview Mall and detained the occupants.

The incident will be reviewed by the Kalamazoo County Prosecutor’s Office for charges.
