Kzoo man stabbed multiple times during fight

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — A Kalamazoo man is recovering in the hospital after being stabbed multiple times Saturday morning.

The incident happened at around 12:15 a.m. in the parking lot behind the Huntington bank, located at 251 E. Michigan Ave.

According to a news release, officers found a 26-year-old man lying on the ground with several stab wounds when they arrived on scene.

Witnesses said the victim and another person were involved in a fight when the suspect, a 42-year-old Kalamazoo resident, interjected himself into the altercation and stabbed the victim several times in the upper torso.

The suspect was arrested at the scene for assault with intent to murder.

The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
