ALLENDALE, Mich. (WOOD) — The former general manager of the Sleep Inn hotel in Allendale has been sentenced for stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars in a credit card scheme.

Nicole Annese, 39, was sentenced to 60 months behind bars in U.S. District Court Monday. Her sentence follows her guilty plea in January to one count of wire fraud.

Under the plea agreement, she will have to pay $872,000 in restitution and has been ordered to forfeit her equity interest in her home in Jenison. Also 14 counts of wire fraud and one count of money laundering were dropped.

From October 2006 until April 2013, Annese stole nearly $900,000 by directing credit card payments to her own accounts.

She was hired as general manager for the hotel back in 2004. She was responsible for processing credit card transactions and daily operations.
