Walker group pushes for city commission term limits

WALKER, Mich. (WOOD) — A group wants to add term limits for the mayor and city commissioners in Walker.

A group called Walker Citizens for Municipal Term Limits is working on petition language, and hopes to get the issue on the November 2016 ballot.

The plan would limit Walker city commissioners and the mayor to two terms in office — or eight years.

The group will need to collect hundreds of signatures to get the issue on the ballot. The signatures will have to be turned in by next summer.
