PAW PAW, Mich. (WOOD) — Westbound I-94 has reopened in Van Buren County after a crash, although construction work in the area is still slowing traffic.
The crash happened around 11:30 a.m. Monday in the westbound lanes of the highway near exit 56, which is the Decatur exit. Traffic had to be re-routed off the highway for about two hours while crews worked to clear the scene.
According to Michigan State Police, traffic was slowing due to construction in the area when a semi-truck rear-ended another semi-truck. A car was also involved when it swerved to the right to avoid the semi-truck.
The driver of the semi-truck that rear-ended the lead truck was flown to Bronson Hospital by Air Care with serious injuries.
