HS roundup: Girls soccer, baseball and softball

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — The state champions in high school girls soccer, baseball and softball will be crowned by the end of the week.

In a Division 3 girls soccer semifinal at Cedar Springs, Hudsonville Unity Christian beat Freeland 4-0. Unity Christian advances to play Detroit Country Day in the finals on Friday.

Baseball:

  • In a Division 1 quarterfinal at Central Michigan University, Grand Rapids Kenowa Hills beat Flushing 4-1. Kenowa Hills advances to play Hartland in the semifinals on Thursday.
  • In a Division 2 quarterfinal at Hope College, Vicksburg beat East Grand Rapids 10-0. Vicksburg advances to play Orchard Lake St. Mary’s in the semifinals.

Softball:

  • In a Division 1 quarterfinal at CMU, Caledonia beat Midland 5-4. Caledonia advances to play Farmington Hills Mercy in the semifinals on Thursday.
  • In a Division 2 quarterfinal at Hope College, Wayland Union beat St. Joseph 2-0. Wayland advances to play St. Clair in the semifinals.
