Station wagon stolen outside of GR bank

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A man armed with a handgun stole a car in Grand Rapids’ Alger Heights neighborhood on Thursday.

It happened outside the Chase Bank branch in the 2400 block of Eastern Avenue SE, according to the Grand Rapids Police Department.

GRPD said a man wearing dark clothing and armed with a handgun approached a driver and stole the driver’s 1996 Chevrolet Caprice station wagon. The suspect then drove away, turning onto Alger Street SE.

The driver was not hurt.
