Testimony in custody case of mom accused of murder

Mitchelle Blair is led out of the court room by Wayne County Sheriff deputies after an outburst of screaming during a custody hearing before Wayne County Circuit Judge Edward Joseph Thursday, June 4, 2015 in Detroit.

DETROIT (AP) — A judge has heard more testimony and scheduled final arguments for June 30 in a case that will determine whether a Detroit mother charged with murder will lose her rights to two children.

Mitchelle Blair is charged with killing two of her four children and storing the bodies in a home freezer. The state wants to terminate her rights to two remaining children, ages 17 and 8.

A friend, Victoria Johnson, testified Thursday. She says Blair spent time with Johnson’s children and was loving and affectionate.

A judge will also decide whether to end the parental rights of two men who are the fathers of Blair’s remaining children.
