Police warn Lowell Light & Power customers of scam

LOWELL, Mich. (WOOD) — The Lowell Police Department is warning residents of a telephone scam targeting Lowell Light and Power customers.

The scammers say they are from Lowell Light and Power and tell customers if they don’t pay their services will be shut off. They then tell customers to call a number and speak to a man named George, who says he is with Lowell Light and Power.

However, the City of Lowell does not have an employee by that name, according to LPD.

Police advise customers to not send the scammers any money. If you have any questions about your bill, call Lowell Light and Power or Lowell City Hall.
