CALEDONIA, Mich. (WOOD) We spend a lot of time planting, pruning, and enjoying our plants and flowers. But sometimes taking care of them can get tricky, especially when it comes to watering.

The folks at Harder and Warner Landscaping and Garden Center say the hot summer months can be hard on plants. They recommend:

  • Drip irrigation for simple plants. Drip irrigation conserves water that may otherwise be lost to evaporation. It also send the water straight to the plant’s root system, making it more effective.
  • Irrigating in the early morning or late evening. Irrigating during the daytime can cause water to evaporate in the hot sun.
  • Not over-watering. Plants can get accustomed to over-watering, so hot and sunny days can cause them to droop.
  • Irrigation services. Harder and Warner has supplies for irrigation and staff with the right knowledge.

Harder and Warner is open over the Fourth of July holiday. Stop in and see what they have for your garden!
