Deputies find $7K worth of stolen items in apartment

HOLLAND TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Deputies have arrested a man who had over $7,000 worth of stolen items in his apartment, according to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department.

When Ottawa County sheriff’s deputies were investigating a home invasion that happened on July 1 in the 14000 block of Blair Street in Port Sheldon Township, the investigation led to an apartment in the 400 block of West Mae Rose Avenue.

Deputies executed a search for the suspect’s apartment where several stolen items were found. The items had been taken over the past few weeks from residents mostly in Holland Township and Park Township, according to deputies.

The items included iPhones, firearms, electronics and jewelry.

The suspect, 21-year-old Alexander Brian Cervantes, of Holland Township, has been arraigned on receiving stolen property and possession of a firearm charges. His bond was set at $10,000.

Authorities say more arrests are possible.
