GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Developers from Third Coast Development and state and city officials broke ground Monday on another new development on Grand Rapids’ Medical Mile.

It’s a part of Third Coast’s Mid Towne Village corridor, an $80 million project.

Monday, ground was broken at 555 Michigan Street on the corner of Union Avenue NE for a mixed-use building that will contain 26 market-rate apartments and 6,000 square feet of retail space.

Third Coast Partner Dave Levitt also said another residential building located across the road at 601 Michigan St. is in the works. It will start to go up once work on the nearby Hampton Inn & Suites is complete.
