Corey LaValley Sr. was found competent on July 2 in 57th District Court.
LaValley, 32, allegedly shot and killed his 33-year-old ex-girlfriend Deb Sheppard, their 10-year-old son Corey LaValley Jr. and Sheppard’s 12-year-old daughter Emma McComber on March 10. He then allegedly set their Dorr Township home on fire.
