Motorcyclist killed in Van Buren County crash

LAWRENCE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) – A motorcyclist was killed Monday morning in a crash involving a motorcycle and pickup truck at an intersection on Red Arrow Highway in Van Buren County.

The crash happened around 11:05 a.m. where Red Arrow Highway and CR 681 intersect, between Hartford and Lawrence.

The Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office says the eastbound motorcycle struck the front passenger’s side of a westbound Chevrolet Silverado as the pickup turned south onto CR 681.

Emergency responders attempted CPR, but the motorcyclist died at the scene.

The motorcyclist has been identified as 59-year-old Michael Edwards, of Portage.

The driver of the pickup, a 43-year-old from Texas, was not hurt.
