COMSTOCK TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Officials have issued a public health advisory for Campbell Lake at Robert Morris Park due to high levels of E. coli.

Samples taken on Thursday, July 30, from the beach area at Campbell Lake on East H Avenue in Comstock Township failed Michigan’s Water Quality Standards for total body contact.

Signs have been posted at the site to inform the public to avoid contact with the water.

The Kalamazoo County Health and Community Services Department will collect samples again on Monday. Those results will be available on Tuesday.

The public heath advisory for Campbell Lake was first issued on July 7.
