GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — The highly anticipated Slows Bar BQ restaurant at the Downtown Market in Grand Rapids is holding a job fair on Friday.
The job fair will be held from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the second floor of the Downtown Market. They will be hiring for all front-of-house and back-of-house positions.
The Detroit-based restaurant was originally expected to open in Grand Rapids in the spring of 2015, but it has been postponed multiple times.
On July 1, a sign in the restaurant still read “Coming Spring 2015” but it was clearly under construction. 24 Hour News 8 has made repeated attempts to learn the new opening date, but that information has not been provided.
Once it opens, the Grand Rapids restaurant will feature a similar menu to that of the original Slows Bar BQ in Detroit, including slow-cooked ribs, brisket, pulled pork, jambalaya and smoked turkey, according to a release. A to-go service will also be included, with catering available.
