Early morning house fire in Byron Twp.

BYRON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Fire crews are working to determine the cause of a house fire in Byron Township Sunday morning.

The fire started just before 6 a.m. in the 2000 block of Ridgecrest Street.

Authorities said the fire was fully involved when they arrived, but crews were able to knock it down quickly.

Everyone escaped the house safely, but the structure sustained extensive damage.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Authorities say they believe it’s possible it started in the garage.
