BC man pinned under burning tractor; injured

FREDONIA TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A Battle Creek man was hospitalized after he got pinned underneath a burning tractor.

Deputies from the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office were called to the accident in the 10,000 block of 15 1/2 Mile Road in Fredonia Township around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Deputies say it appears the two men were using the tractor to pull out a truck that was stuck in the mud in the field when the tractor overturned, pinning the 36-year-old man under it.

A 47-year-old Battle Creek man who was with the victim was able to pull him from under the burning tractor.

The victim suffered burns to his right arm and back. He was treated on scene and then taken to a Kalamazoo hospital by Air Care. His condition is unknown at this time.
