Wybenga was found dead on Dec. 30 at a motel on 3 Mile Road near Alpine Avenue in Walker.

Brunn, a parole absconder, was soon sought as a person of interest. He was arrested a few days later in Detroit. The 29-year-old allegedly confessed to investigators that he smoked crack and “fooled around” with Wybenga before he became angry and strangled the man.
