GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A woman has pleaded guilty to making a false police report after she accused a Grand Rapids Police Department officer of groping her.

Caitlin Rae Pals, 24, pleaded guilty to the charge of making a false police report after she accused a GRPD officer of inappropriate sexual contact during a traffic stop in July, 2014.

Under her plea agreement, Pals will serve no more than six months in jail. She will be sentenced in September.

On July 17, 2014, Officer John Guerrero pulled over Pals for driving the wrong way on a one way street. Her license was suspended and she was arrested.

The next day Pals made a sexual assault complaint to the GRPD Internal Affairs Unit. She accused Guerrero of “feeling on” her as he searched her.

The incident was investigated by the Internal Affairs Unit and was determined to be unfounded.
