GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A motorcyclist was killed in a crash in Grand Rapids on Wednesday night.

It happened around 9:40 p.m. at the intersection of Logan Street and Grandville Avenue SW, according to the Grand Rapids Police Department. Police say the motorcyclist was headed west on Logan at a high rate of speed when he lost control and crashed into a parked car.

The motorcyclist was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

GRPD says the motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Speed was a factor in the crash, police said, but alcohol was not.

The motorcyclist was identified Friday as 22-year-old Donovan Jaquise Frazier of Grand Rapids.

Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call GRPD’s Special Services Unit at 616.456.3771 or Silent Observer at 616.771.2345.
