Drive away hunger at golf outing

THREE RIVERS, Mich. (WOOD) September is National Hunger Action Month. Hunger is a crisis in the United States, with 49 million Americans considered food insecure. An organization based in Grand Rapids that aims to feed Americans and raise awareness is the Will Play for Food Foundation.

The Will Play for Food Foundation is in all 50 states, and is based in Grand Rapids. The organization has been selected as the beneficiary of a charity golf tournament to help feed veterans and military families.

The Drive Away Hunger tournament is Saturday, September 5, at Pine View Golf Club in Three Rivers. It is a four-person scramble. It’s $75 per person or $300 per foursome to play. All proceeds will help WPFF feed veterans and military families. Modern Woodmen Fraternal Financial Chapter 7379 will match funds raised at the event, up to $2,500 to benefit military families in Van Buren County. Click here to buy tickets online.

You can donate to the Will Play for Food Foundation at any time on their website. During the month of September, The Intersection will donate $1 per online ticket sold, for any show, to the Will Play for Food Foundation.
