PORTER TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A 28-year-old driver was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Van Buren County Saturday morning.

It happened near the intersection of 32nd Street and County Road 669 in Porter Township — south of Lawton.

Van Buren County deputies say a 2005 Hyundai Sonata was heading northbound on 32nd Street when the driver went through the intersection and off the road, hitting a tree.

The driver, Andrew Cusentino of Lawton, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a Van Buren County Sheriff’s Department news release.

Deputies believe the crash happened sometime in the early morning hours, but it was discovered by a passerby shortly before 8 a.m.

Speed is believed to be a factor in the crash, the release said.

It remains under investigation. Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Department at 269.657.2006.
