BCPD: Two jailed after using fake $100 bills

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (WOOD) — A man and a woman were arrested after using counterfeit $100 bills in Battle Creek.

According to a news release, the Battle Creek Police Department got a call at around 11 p.m. Saturday from the Big Boy on West Columbia Avenue about an 18-year-old woman buying a shake at the restaurant with a $100 bill. She took her change, but left the shake.

When officers were headed to the restaurant, they saw a woman leaving a Speedway gas station who matched the description.

Police determined the woman passed out fake bills to four businesses in the area.

The investigation revealed a 31-year-old man was also involved.

Both were taken to the county jail to face charges related to the counterfeit bills. A release did not specify what those charges would be.
