Motorcyclist seriously injured in Holland Twp. crash

HOLLAND TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A motorcyclist was hospitalized with serious injuries following a crash in Holland Township.

Deputies say Damion Locke, 45, of Holland was crossing northbound US-31 near Greenly Street using the median crossover when he was hit by a vehicle around 3:45 p.m. Monday.

The other driver, 22-year-old Ashley Smith of Muskegon, was entering US-31 and had a yield sign. She told deputies she saw Locke approaching, but thought she had more time to enter than she actually did when she hit Locke.

Locke suffered serious injuries, but hospital officials said he is in stable condition.

Smith was not injured.
