Police seek suspect who robbed Niles convenience store

NILES, Mich. (WOOD) — Authorities are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect who they say robbed a Niles convenience store.

The robbery happened around 10 p.m. Wednesday at the Bell Plaza Party Store on South 11th Street. Berrien County Sheriff’s deputies say the man held up a knife, demanded cash and took off with an unknown amount. No one was hurt.

Authorities say the suspect is white, about 5’10” tall and 230 pounds. He was wearing white gym shoes, dark athletic pants and a dark colored sweatshirt with the words “Old Navy” believed to be on the front with the hood up. He also had a mask covering the lower half of his face and was wearing a ball cap.
