Lansing police investigating after body part discovered

LANSING, Mich. (WOOD) — Police in Lansing are investigating after a fisherman snagged a shoe with a human limb attached to it from the Grand River, according to WLNS.

A fisherman at the Brenke Fish Ladder pulled the limb ashore around 9:20 a.m. Friday, according the Lansing Police Department. It has been sent to the Ingham County medical examiner.

WLNS, WOOD TV8’s Lansing sister station, reports that the body of a 38-year-old woman was found in the same location on May 8. Police at the time said that no foul play was suspected. The mother of that woman told WLNS that her daughter’s boyfriend had also been missing. He was last seen April 25.

Police have made no identification related to Friday’s discovery.
