ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Mich. (WOOD) — Michigan State Police say a routine fishing license check turned into a drug bust in St. Joseph County.
It happened around 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Police say 52-year-old Bruce Lovell of Vicksburg was fishing near the Sturgis Dam. When police went to check his fishing license, they discovered he had marijuana. Police checked his vehicle and found open intoxicants and a mobile meth lab, as well as a large amount of marijuana.
Lovell was arrested for operating and maintaining a meth lab, possession of meth, possession of marijuana, open intoxicants, driving an unregistered vehicle and operating without insurance. He’s currently at the St. Joseph County Jail.
