2 hurt after motorcycle hits car in Wyoming

WYOMING, Mich. (WOOD) — Two people were hurt Sunday night when the motorcycle they were riding collided with a car in Wyoming.

The crash happened around 10:50 p.m. on 44th Street at Stonebridge Avenue, near the Ramble Wood Apartments, according to the Wyoming Department of Public Safety.

Witnesses told police that the motorcycle was traveling at a high rate of speed and weaving across both westbound lanes before it struck an eastbound car that was turning north onto Stonebridge.

The motorcycle driver and his passenger were both thrown from the bike in the collision. Both were wearing helmets.

The driver, a 20-year-old Grand Rapids man, and his passenger, a 20-year-old woman from Grand Rapids, were taken to the hospital. The woman was treated and released and the man was admitted with non-life-threatening injuries.

The 23-year-old Ada man driving the car was not hospitalized.

Police say alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
