2 charged in connection to Kalamazoo shooting

KALAMAZOO TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Two people have been charged in connection to a September shooting in Kalamazoo Township.

Kyle Jeffrey Krause, 22, of Kalamazoo was arraigned Wednesday on assault with intent to murder, armed robbery, felon in possession of a firearm and three counts of a firearm in the commission of a felony. Bond was set at $100,000 cash and he was taken to the Kalamazoo County Jail. He will be back in court on Oct. 20.

Darrien Anthony Hampton, 26, of Kalamazoo was arraigned on armed robbery on Sept. 15. Bond was set at $100,000 cash, and he was taken to the Kalamazoo County Jail.

The shooting happened on Sunday Sept. 13 shortly after 2 a.m. in the 500 block of Gayle Street.  The victim was shot multiple times outside of a home. Police say the victim is still recovering from his injuries.
