CASNOVIA TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD)—A longtime Muskegon County firefighter who died last week received a hero’s funeral.
Fellow firefighters sounded the last alarm for 67-year-old Richard Crosby Thursday afternoon.
The 44-year veteran of the Casnovia Township Fire Department was laid to rest at Bailey Christian Church.
A week earlier, Crosby suffered a heart attack and collapsed a few hours after responding to a medical call. He died at the hospital days later.
Crosby was from Grant.
People across West Michigan were encouraged to fly their flags at half-staff Thursday in his honor.
